Metro Detroit area artists, students, and teachers compete in teams during this high-energy glass blowing competition on Sat. April 18th, 11am- 5pm. Michigan’s only State Proprietary Trade school teaching glass classes in Metro Detroit.

Greenfield Village opens for the season on April 15th. Experience “Murrini Madness” as the Greenfield Village glassblowers demonstrate this fascinating technique by “piecing together” a design from pre-made slices of glass. Our artisans will create one-of-a-kind works of art. Demonstrations continue daily from 9:30am-5pm.

Working inches away from the flame, lampworkers pursue their craft using a torch and solid rods of glass and metal to create exciting works of art. The molten glass is transformed into beautiful sculpture, beads, goblets, marbles and much more. Participating artists include Tina Betz, Carmen Lozar, Milon Townsend, Don Miller, Mark Vandenberg, Amy Ruopp, Kathleen Elliot, Rick Ayotte, Melissa Ayotte, Mayauel Ward, Joe Peters and Loy Allen.
